When Claire and Ryan reached out about celebrating their engagement on the Oregon Coast, we dreamed up a session that would showcase the beauty and variety of this iconic landscape. Starting Among the Coastal Dunes
We began the afternoon tucked into the grassy dunes near Cannon Beach. The light was soft and golden, filtering through the tall beachgrass, while Claire’s flowing dress caught the breeze perfectly. These moments set the tone — quiet, intimate, and full of natural movement.
Walking Into the Water
From there, we made our way down to the shoreline. Cannon Beach opened wide before us, its wet sand reflecting the sky like glass. Claire and Ryan ran barefoot along the water’s edge, laughing as the tide curled around their feet. The backdrop of Haystack Rock gave every frame a sense of place, reminding us why Cannon Beach is such a beloved spot for engagement photos.
A Stop at Hug Point
Next, we explored Hug Point, one of the Oregon Coast’s most unique locations. With its rugged cliffs, waterfall, and textured rock formations, it added a touch of adventure to the session. Claire and Ryan embraced against the stone backdrop, their laughter echoing as waves rushed in around them. Hug Point always feels like a secret corner of the coast — wild, romantic, and a little dramatic.
Sunset Over the Pacific Northwest
To end the session, we drove to one of my favorite overlooks for panoramic ocean views. Here, the Pacific Northwest shows its full power: cliffs dropping into the sea, waves crashing far below, and the horizon lit with fiery sunset color. Standing together against the vastness, Claire and Ryan looked both small and infinite — the perfect way to close their engagement story.
